Prometheus Labor Communications, Inc. deals with over 75 clients that share a common purpose – organizing a pro-labor community across the United States. Because of this, a great deal of the content generated on a single site is of interest of many of the other clients. The clients embody a progressive attitude toward sharing their content, and Prometheus was charged with the task of developing a way for clients to easily syndicate and borrow content from each other. For a number of reasons, Prometheus did not desire to use RSS for this purpose.

Most sites rely heavily on views to generate lists of content. Most clients need an easy way to administer those views, without getting deep into the configuration of a site. In speaking with clients, Danaus has learned that clients need to be able to control the output of a view while looking at the content it generates. Additionally, a client will often need many views that generate similar lists of content. Rather than using multiple views, it is easier and more efficient to design one view and deploy it in many different applications.
