People find trading with penny stocks easy and worthwhile for the simple reason that they are available for a cheap price and a rapid growth process that may account for a high gain scenario.

Fraud and the stock market are closely related to each other. The main reason is that people are attracted to money and to get their hands on it they resort to vile and evil means like fraud, ponzi schemes, illegal dumping schemes etc.

The slump recorded in the NYSE in the beginning of this year was mostly due to such schemes and frauds. Though amends have been made to revive the stock exchange much needs to be done before the repercussions and aftershocks fully get over.
