Jay Dardenne, the current Secretary of State of Louisianna, relied on Danaus, LLC to deploy solutions for his first election to the position, and his re-election campaign. Already working with in-house talent that was fully capable of managing a Web site, the campaign hired Danaus to build Drupal into a content management system that met their needs. This involved working closely with Danaus to configure Drupal for their focus, custom theming from the ground up, and development of specialized modules specifically geared toward voter outreach.

Danaus believes in giving back to the community. In light of this, Danaus has done pro-bono work to help the University of Massachusetts Department of Journalism develop an online newspaper practicum. The aim of the practicum is to give students experience reporting for an online publication. With Drupal, Danaus was able to provide the department with a product that mirrored the workflow at a traditional newspaper. Students in the program report on stories of local interest and submit the stories and digital photographs online. There, a teaching assistant serves as a copy editor, making edits to the submissions, approving the stories, and laying out the front page of the site. The final product is usually the result of an entire semester of work.

Prometheus Labor Communications, Inc. is a Massachusetts corporation specializing in deploying Drupal solutions tailored for the labor movement. With over 75 clients, ranging from rank-and-file organizations within a single union, on up to international labor federations, Prometheus has needed a range of scalable, reliable, specialized solutions. Danaus, LLC has worked with Prometheus to develop modules that:

• Assist client unions in organizing efforts,
• Aggregate and present relevant site content, and
• Manage large numbers of highly active site users that contribute their own content.

Additionally, Prometheus has funded the development of several Drupal modules to provide support for in-house tasks. These projects have had a particular focus on enhancing Prometheus' own client project management.

The University of Massachusetts Hillel is a vibrant religious community engaging thousands of students at the university in religious and cultural student life. Danaus worked closely with Hillel’s executive director, director of development, program director and in-house web designer to create an online community. While the online community was intended to provide an additional capacity to reach out to students, Hillel also expressed a desire to reinvent long-standing internal organizational practices through a more efficient online approach. Danaus developed solutions for both needs, in one tightly integrated package.
